qui fait que les gens se souviennent de la mort,
 pietà vi mosse; onde, benignamente

To Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Pour la Miséricorde, la Pitié, la Paix et l’Amour
All pray in their distress;

And to these virtues of delight

Return their thankfulness.

For Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love

Pour Miséricorde, Pitié, Paix, et Amour
Is God, our father dear,
C’est Dieu, notre cher père,
And Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Et Miséricorde, Pitié, Paix, et Amour
Is Man, his child and care.
C’est l’homme, son enfant et sa préoccupation.

For Mercy has a human heart,
Car Miséricorde a un cœur humain,
Pity a human face,
Pitié a une face humaine,
And Love, the human form divine,

And Peace, the human dress.
