SONG 1ST BY A  SHEPHERD
LA PREMIERE CHANSON d’UN BERGER

Song 1st by a shepherd William Blake par Thomas Phillips Traduction Artgitato française Première chanson d'un berger

Song 1st by a shepherd
*
Welcome, stranger, to this place,

Bienvenue à toi, étranger, dans ce lieu,
Where joy sits on every bough,
Où la joie habite chaque  branche,
Paleness flies from every face;
Ici, la pâleur a quitté chaque visage ;
We reap not what we do not snow.
Nous récoltons pas ce que nous ne semons pas.

*

Innocence doth like a rose
L’Innocence tout comme une rose
Bloom on every maiden’s cheek
décore la joue de chaque jeune fille
Honour twines around her brows,
L’Honneur se ficelle autour de leurs sourcils,
The jewel health adorns her neck.
Et la santé à l’instar d’un bijou orne leurs cous.
