The Divine Image William Blake L'Image Divine TexteTraduction Artgitato française

THE DIVINE IMAGE
L’Image Divine

To Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Pour la Miséricorde, la Pitié, la Paix et l’Amour
All pray in their distress;
Tous prient dans leur détresse ;
And to these virtues of delight
Et à ces vertus de plaisir
Return their thankfulness.
Que revient leur reconnaissance.
*

For Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love

Pour Miséricorde, Pitié, Paix, et Amour
Is God, our father dear,
C’est Dieu, notre cher père,
And Mercy, Pity, Peace, and Love
Et Miséricorde, Pitié, Paix, et Amour
Is Man, his child and care.
C’est l’homme, son enfant et sa préoccupation.
*
For Mercy has a human heart,
Car Miséricorde a un cœur humain,
Pity a human face,
Pitié a une face humaine,
And Love, the human form divine,
Et Amour, la divine forme humaine
And Peace, the human dress.
Et Paix, le vêtement humain.
*
Then every man, of every clime,
Puis, chaque homme, sous tous les climats,
That prays in his distress,
Qui prie dans sa détresse,
Prays to the human form divine,
Prie la divine forme humaine,
Love, Mercy, Pity, Peace.
Amour, Miséricorde, Pitié, Paix.
*
And all must love the human form,
Et tous doivent aimer la forme humaine,
In heathen, Turk, or Jew;
Le païen, le Turc, ou le Juif
Where Mercy, Love, and Pity dwell
Où Miséricorde, Amour, et Pitié séjournent
There God is dwelling too.
Il y a Dieu qui demeure aussi.
